Elena Chetina is a Professor in the Philological department at Perm State University (Russia) and the head of the Laboratory of cultural and visual anthropology. She has directed a great number of ethnographic films, she is also a Lecturer and teaches the following courses: Cultural Anthropology; Modern Russian Literature; Cultural Studies and Interpretation of visual text.
Her research interests focus particularly on folk culture, folk religion, modern theatre, and documentary filmmaking.
Elena Chetina est professeur au département de philologie de l'Université d'état de Perm (Russie) et responsable du Laboratoire d’anthropologie visuelle et culturelle. Elle a réalisé un grand nombre de films ethnographiques, elle est également maître de conférences et enseigne les cours suivants : Anthropologie culturelle, Littérature russe moderne, Cultural Studies, et L'interprétation du texte visuel.
Ses domaines de recherche touchent à la culture populaire, à la religion populaire, au théâtre moderne et au cinéma documentaire.
