SECRET LIFE OF SPACETIME
...Combining the principles of general relativity and quantum theory still remains as elusive as ever. Recent work, that concentrated on the points of conflict and contact between quantum theory and general relativity, suggests a new perspective...

Nicolas Perrin - Quantum K-theory of some homogeneous spaces
...Quantum K-theory is as quantum cohomology a generalisation of the classical coho- mology algebra of a variety X . In this talk I will explain the connection between the geometry of the moduli space of stable maps, in particular rational...

Quantum Turing Test
... required experiments are not beyond our reach and have been implemented, even in a basic optical setting, but these are quantum experiments simulating quantum theory. So even if we assume the correctness of quantum theory, we are soon reaching to the...

Christian Gérard - Introduction to field theory on curved spacetimes (Part 1)
...The aim of these lectures is to give an introduction to quantum field theory on curved spacetimes, from the point of view of partial differential equations and microlocal analysis. I will concentrate on free fields and quasi-free states, and say...

Claudio Dappiaggi - On the role of asymptotic structures in the construction of quantum states for free field theories on curved backgrounds
...In the algebraic approach to quantum field theory on curved backgrounds, there exists a special class of quantum states for free fields, called of Hadamard form. These are of...

MEASUREMENT OF THE THERMAL SPECTRUM OF HAWKING RADIATION FROM AN ANALOG HORIZON
Hawking predicted that black holes should radiate thermal radiation, the temperature being a function solely of the geometry near the horizon of the black hole. The same arguments show that one would also expect thermal radiation from other horizons, like the sonic horizon formed in a trans-sonic flow, or the horizon to fluid surface gravity waves formed by a blocking flow. This talk will discuss the phenomenon of black hole thermal emission, problems with its derivation, the ubiquity of such thermal emission by horizons, and the measurements ...
