E. Amerik - On the characteristic foliation

Let X be a holomorphic symplectic manifold and D a smooth hypersurface in X. Then the restriction of the symplectic form on D has one-dimensional kernel at each point. This distribution is called the characteristic foliation. I shall survey a few results concerning the possible Zariski closure of a general leaf of this foliation by myself and Campana, myself and my former student L. Guseva, and more recently by my student R. Abugaliev.

S. Druel - A decomposition theorem for singular spaces with trivial canonical class (Part 5)

The Beauville-Bogomolov decomposition theorem asserts that any compact Kähler manifold with numerically trivial canonical bundle admits an étale cover that decomposes into a product of a torus, an irreducible, simply-connected Calabi-Yau, and holomorphic symplectic manifolds. With the development of the minimal model program, it became clear that singularities arise as an inevitable part of higher dimensional life. We will present recent works in which a singular version of the decomposition theorem is established.

B. Rémy - Génération de groupes topologiques simples

Les groupes finis simples sont connus pour être engendrés par des paires d’éléments bien choisies. On peut se poser la même question avec des groupes topologiques : que peut-on espérer comme partie engendrant un sous-groupe dense ? Évidemment, la réponse dépend des groupes considérés ; on y répondra partiellement pour des groupes de matrices, et on évoquera les nombreuses questions ouvertes dans le domaine.
