The MSCA-DN project PHABB: PatHogens of Algae for Biocontrol and Biosecurity
PHABB stands for PatHogens of Algae for Biocontrol and Biosecurity and is a four-year project financed by the HORIZON–MSCA-2022-DN program of the European Commission under the Grant Agreement No 101120280. It starts in January 2024 and will end in December 2027. Coordinated by the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle, PHABB brings together European institutions, companies, and the University of Aberdeen thanks to co-funding by UK Research and Innovation. PHABB aims to train the next generation of researchers and engineers in tackling the biological and evolutionary processes linked to microbial community dynamics, virulence and host specificity of pathogens that target desirable or undesirable algae. Our long-term aim is to develop new disease management strategies in seaweeds and biocontrol of harmful algal blooms.
