
Driant, Jean-Claude (1958-.... ; géographe)
Géographe, enseignant à l'Université de Paris XII (en 1992). Professeur à l’École d’urbanisme de Paris (EUP, université Paris Est) et chercheur au Lab’Urba (en 2014)
Full Professor at the Institute of Urbanism in Paris (Université Paris-Est, Créteil), he was its director from 2001 to 2006. He is currently at the head of Lab'Urba. Habitat specialist, Jean-Claude Driant dedicates the majority of his research and teaching to the socio-economics of housing, to the stock of social housing, and to the functionning of housing markets. Prior to his academic career, he worked for six years for a consulting firm specializing while preparing his doctoral thesis on the housing conditions in working-class neighborhoods of Lima (Peru). Working regularly in conjunction with State agencies, local authorities, and other housing officials, he is the author of numerous studies, articles, and educational materials, and has written or co-ordinated several books devoted to housing in France and South America.
His current and future research focus on the links between the functioning of local housing markets and the implementation of territorial policies involving housing.
