Dr Adam Lucas is a lecturer in the Science and Technology Studies Program at the University of Wollongong, Australia. His research on the history of premodern and early modern science and technology has gained international recognition, primarily through his work on water- and wind-power in the Middle Ages. He recently took over Brill’s ‘Technology and Change in History’ series as co-editor with Steven A. Walton (Pennsylvania State University).
