Pelligra, Daniel

Anthropologue, réalisateur, Daniel Pelligra enseigne l’anthropologie visuelle à l’Université Lumière Lyon 2, et le cours public ethnologie et cinéma à l’Institut Lumière et au muséum de Lyon.
En 1986, il organise le festival du film ethnographique de Die, en 1993, la reprise à Lyon de la programmation Premiers contacts, premiers regards, et en 1995, le festival « 100 ans après : le cinéma des Autres » .
Daniel Pelligra a réalisé de nombreux films sur les thèmes suivants : pastoralisme, immigration, archéologie et préhistoire. Il est également président de APASHES (atelier de productions audiovisuelles pour les sciences humaines et sociales). Son ouvrage Who knows ? (Profession : cinémateur) sur l’imbrication entre fiction et documentaire et l’héritage de Jean Rouch, est en cours de publication.

Anthropologist and filmmaker Daniel Pelligra teaches visual anthropology at the l’Université Lumière Lyon 2 in addition to offering a public course on Ethnology and Cinema at the Institut Lumière and Museum of Lyon.
In 1986, he organized the Festival of Ethnographic Film in Die, in 1993, a repeat performance of First Contacts, First Looks in Lyon, and in 1995, the Festival « 100 years later: the Cinema of Others ».
Daniel Pelligra has directed several films on pastoralism, immigration, archaeology and prehistory. He is also President of APASHES (a workshop for audiovisual productions in the humanities and social sciences). His book, Who knows? (Profession: cinémateur), which examines the interrelations between fiction and documentary and the legacy of Jean Rouch, is forthcoming.
