Descriptif
Pablo PIANTANIDA (CNRS/CentraleSupélec), Director of ILLS (International Laboratory on Learning Systems), tells us about his International Research Laboratory (IRL).
ILLS is an IRL created in 2022. It brings together CentraleSupélec, CNRS, Université Paris-Saclay, McGill University, École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) and the Institut québécois d’intelligence artificielle (Mila).
ILLS aims to develop mathematical tools to improve machine learning algorithms and secure their use. These algorithms could, for example, be used for natural language and speech processing, or for computer vision and signal processing applications.
The laboratory focuses on five main areas of research:
- Fundamental aspects of AI to secure its use
- Sequential machine learning (in real time)
- Robust autonomous systems
- Natural language and speech processing
- Applications to computer vision, signals and information processing
As an international hub of multidisciplinary expertise, this IRL aims to structure and increase Franco-Canadian collaborations in both fundamental research in artificial intelligence and its application to machine learning systems.
