Descriptif
This presentation focuses on the efforts being made by the West African Coastal Areasmapping Vulnerability, Adaptability, and Resilience in a changing climate (WACA-VAR) project, anchored by the IRD Team and its African partners to strategically build long-term coastal adaptability and resilience along the West African (WA) coast. It sheds light on the goal and objectives of the project, which is first, to carry out an in-depth, multidimensional assessment of coastal vulnerability and solutions along the WA coast and secondly to develop studies that will lead to the formulation and implementation of innovative and sustainable plans and policies for the management of the WA coastal areas. All of these actions aim to establish added-value relative to the overall regional West African Coastal Area Management (WACA) umbrella programme objectives.
