The (Neo-)Historical in British Literature and Visual Arts (20th-21st c.)

Starting with the premise that the modernist historical novel has been ignored, Diana Wallace argues that there is actually a large body of modernist historical novels (even if many are out of print) and goes on to show that a number of categories currently applied to a contemporary corpus can actually be applied to modernist historical fiction.
