ECHOES (European Cloud for Heritage OpEn Science) est un projet financé par la Commission européenne et le UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) qui rassemble les communautés fragmentées du domaine du patrimoine culturel en une nouvelle communauté autour du Digital Commons. Il vise à créer l'European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH), une plateforme partagée conçue pour fournir aux professionnels du patrimoine et aux chercheurs un accès aux données, aux ressources scientifiques, à la formation et aux outils numériques avancés adaptés à leurs besoins.
ECHOES a pour objectif de mettre en place un environnement numérique qui permettra la numérisation des connaissances existantes et l'analyse collaborative des biens, des faits et des phénomènes du patrimoine culturel. Dans ce contexte, les acteurs - qu'il s'agisse d'humains ou d'intelligence artificielle (IA) - pourront y développer leurs propres interprétations, enrichissant ainsi la connaissance du patrimoine culturel. L'environnement numérique proposé par ECHOES permettra aux utilisateurs d'interagir avec les jumeaux numériques, de les manipuler et de les enrichir, ce qui favorisera la création de nouvelles connaissances scientifiques élaborées en collaboration.

The European Cloud for Heritage OpEn Science(ECHOES) is a project funded by the European Commission and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) that brings together fragmented communities of the Cultural Heritage field into a new community around the Digital Commons. It aims to create the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH), a shared platform designed to provide heritage professionals and researchers with access to data, scientific resources, training, and advanced digital tools tailored to suit their needs.
ECHOES will create a digital environment that enables the digitisation of existing knowledge and the collaborative analysis of cultural heritage assets, facts, and phenomena. In this context, actors – whether humans or Artificial Intelligence – can develop their interpretations, thereby enriching the knowledge of cultural heritage and their surroundings. The digital environment proposed by ECHOES will empower users to interact with, manipulate and enrich Digital Twins, fostering the creation of new, collaboratively developed scientific knowledge.
