Derluguian, Georgi M. (19..-....)
Georgi Derluguian studied African History at Moscow State University. In Mozambique in the 1980s he saw his first civil war, later witnessing more post-Soviet conflicts. Moving to Binghamton in 1990, he later taught at Michigan and Northwestern universities. Select publications: «Che Guevaras in Turbans» (1999), Bourdieu’s Secret Admirer in the Caucasus (2005), The Way This World Works (2012), Armenia: Prospects (2017), as well as the debate volume Does Capitalism Have a Future? (2013) co-written with Immanuel Wallerstein, Randall Collins, Michael Mann, and Craig Calhoun, currently translated in 17 languages. Since 2011, Georgi has been working at New York University in Abu Dhabi. He lives in Yerevan, Armenia.
