Remillet, Gilles (1970-....)

Cinéaste-anthropologue, Gilles Remillet est membre du groupe de recherche Cinémas, représentations, identités, de l’Université Paris X-Nanterre et du Centre interdisciplinaire Récits, cultures, psychanalyse, langues et société de l’Université de Nice Sophia-Antipolis. Après avoir travaillé à la Mission du patrimoine ethnologique du Conseil général du Gard et enseigné l’ethnologie à l’Université de Montpellier III, il travaille aujourd’hui en tant qu’anthropologue réalisateur indépendant (DOC Images). Ses travaux portent sur le cinéma documentaire, l’anthropologie visuelle, le milieu ouvrier et le champ de la santé, de la médecine et de la maladie.
Anthropologist and filmmaker Gilles Remillet is a member of the research group Cinémas, représentations, identités (Films, representations, identities) at the University of Paris X-Nanterre and of the Centre interdisciplinaire récits, cultures, psychanalyse, langues et société (Interdisciplinary narratives, cultures, psychoanalysis, language and society) at the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis. Having worked at the Mission du patrimoine ethnologique du Conseil général du Gard and taught anthropology at the University of Montpellier III, he now works as an independent ethnographic filmmaker (DOC Images). His work focuses on documentary cinema, visual anthropology, working class environment and issues of health, medicine and disease.
