Reynolds, Kev (19..-....)

Kev Reynolds left school at the age of fifteen as one of life's failures. He has since spent nearly 60 years celebrating that failure, for he discovered that 'failure' meant freedom. After several years drifting from one dead-end job to another, his love of mountains, nature and the countryside led him to become a youth hostel warden where he could help others discover the wonders of the world around them. Then serendipity stepped in and at the age of 42 he began a career as a travel writer and compiler of guidebooks. Thirty years on, he still claims he has the World's Best Job.
He has published more than 50 books, most of which are guidebooks to walks, treks and climbs in the Pyrenees, Alps and Himalaya; others cover his home territory of Southern England. A collection of short stories and reminiscences harvested from 50 years among the world's wild places (A Walk in the Clouds) was published in 2013,and Abode of the Gods - an account of eight of his trekking expeditions in the Nepal Himalaya - appeared in 2015. When he's not writing, or connecting with nature, Kev can be found travelling throughout Britain and abroad, sharing his love of the natural world through his lectures.
