Meenakshi THAPAN is professor in the department of Sociology at the University of Delhi. She is working in Sociology of Education just as Gender Studies. Her researches are now focalised on the construction of citizenship and identity through academic education.
In February 2004, she organized at the University of Delhi a Colloquium untitled “Pierre Bourdieu : Sociologist and Sociologies” with participation of scholars from India and France.
