Descriptif

Haseki Hospital is one of the fundamentals of Ottoman health institutions with its past of more than 450 years. In the early part of the nineteenth century this hospital will be treated in the early days of the hospital with various names such as darüşşifa, kadın darüşşifası, nisa hastanesi, acezehane, bimarhane, zindan (dungeon), tevkifhane (detention center). In parallel with these names, many functions such as hospital, hospital, bimarhane, dhânhane, orphanage and detention center were undertaken at the same time. In addition to his medical diagnosis and treatment, he has provided care and shelter services to orphans, poor, homeless and children from the foundation. After the 1840s, health and care services were directed especially to sick and females. In this presentation, the tips given by Haseki Nisa Hospital to understand the experiences of lonely, poor, homeless, homeless women in 19th century Istanbul will be evaluated.
