Descriptif
Combinatorial maps are a model of discrete geometry: they are surfaces made by gluing polygons along their sides, or equivalently, graphs drawn on surfaces. In this talk, I'll focus on the study of the geometric properties of large random maps. Historically, in connection with models of "2D quantum gravity", efforts have focused on maps of the sphere, but in the last ten years this study has been extended to maps whose genus (number of handles) tends to infinity.
