Remapping the Model of Studio Production Techniques

Description

Throughout ethnographies of studio networks in Dakar (Senegal) and Bamako (Mali), this panel underlines the informal learning methods that beatmakers, arrangers, and engineers who produce music outside of privileged areas develop without following a structured curriculum nor having access to internships in well-equipped studios. This panel was presented at the Audio Engineering Society Virtual Vienna online Convention on June 5, 2020.
